Americas Adventure 2016 - Beaufoy Calling!

Our Americas Adventures are an experience beyond words. We enjoy the big crowd and direct blessing of our Lama during the summer course at the Europe Center, and then share the experience of other centers, where connections deepen.

The visits to these European centers are like pilgrimages where we see fine examples, learn and share what we can. This year, instead of a tour, we will spend all our time living in the amazing center of London Beaufoy!! Along with the usual program, we will participate in renovation work during several days, which brings us a new level of integration to the grand projects we visit on the Americas Adventures.

One other major difference to other years is that everyone should arrange their own travel from the EC to London. Busses for such a distance, especially when crossing the English Channel, tend not to save us money like on the nearer overland (not over water) tours of the first three years. However, there are some very low airfares from Memmingen (45 minutes from the EC) or Munich (2 hours from the EC). We recommend that people pack as lightly as they can, fly to Europe via London, and book one round trip ticket from there to either of these two cities on the budget airlines for the course.

Part 1: Europe Center - Summer Course

Sat. 30 July - Sun. 14 August
Plus helping with course dismantling for few days after the course

For general information about the course program, prices, and registration, please visit the course website – www.summercourse.ec.

We recommend that you book your overseas flight via London so that you do not need to travel back to Munich/EC after the Adventure. To get from London to the EC, Ryan Air has cheap flights to Memmingen, and Easy Jet to Munich. Classic airlines also offer good rates and have a few more comforts. Check the transportation page for some suggestions.

The distmantling phase of the course very much welcomes anyone with the surplus to assist. If you can support in this way, it'd be great, and you'll have a blast.

Part 2: Beaufoy Calling!

Wed. 17 August - Mon. 22 August

The program, which is as full and rich as usual, this year also includes a lot of working in the Beaufoy. This aspect is a new element for our Americas Adventures. Working together with our friends in the UK will deepen bonds, and give us more experience of what it entails to create such big centers. Our hosts offer us the cheapest rate possible with the understanding that we will be helping out on the project. Remember to pack a set of rugged, dingy work clothes!

For those who would like to do sightseeing in London, it is better to fly on Monday after the course. For those who are not as interested in tourism and would rather help at the EC, you can arrange your flight for Tuesday or Wednesday.

Everyone can stay in the massive Beaufoy, but accommodations will be simple. You can even bring your tent from the course and set it up indoors if you like! For those looking for more comfort, you can book a nearby hotel/hostel.
