The Way Things Are is an excellent introduction to Buddhism in general and Diamond Way Buddhism in particular. Riding The Tiger tells the story of bringing Buddhism to The West. Entering the Diamond Way, about Lama Ole and Hannah meeting with the 16th Karmapa, will be coming soon.

More advanced readings include The Great Seal, explaining the Mahamudra teachings, and Tomek Lehnert’s Rogues in Robes describing the history behind the recognition of the 17th Karmapa.

While we’re on the e-books subject, our Buddhism Today magazine is also available on Kindle, the latest issue is Fall/Winter 2011.

In case nobody from the Sangha can make it on some day, our home-page will have an announcement about it.

John can only come just before midnight on Friday, so we start with a guided 16th Karmapa Meditation at 8pm on Friday in the Center, followed by a little Q&A with local sangha members. We will then continue Saturday morning with a meditation session, Q&A with John, and a lecture. The program on Sunday will be similar, with lecture in the morning, and meditation session in the afternoon.

All the program takes places at our Center. The help cover the cost of travel we will ask you for donation of $10 per lecture/Q&A session (or $30 for the full event).

About Lama Ole Nydahl

Lama Ole Nydahl and his wife Hannah were the first western students of the H.H. 16th Gyalwa Karmapa. In a constant exchange with his students, Lama Ole teaches the goal and methods of Karma Kagyu Diamond Way Buddhism. His joyful way of living provides a glimpse of what anyone can achieve through direct experience of one’s own mind.

He has transmitted the blessing of the lineage, traveling as an authorized Lama and tirelessly teaching around the world in a different city nearly every day for over 30 years (his current teaching schedule). Diamond Way (Vajrayana – Skt.) is the crown jewel of the Buddha’s teachings. About Daria Novoselova

Daria Novoselova was born in Novosibirsk, Russia. At 16 she met Lama Ole Nydahl on one of his yearly travels through Russia. After being involved with the local center work in Ekaterinburg, she moved to Toronto, Canada, and in 2001 she helped found the city’s first Diamond Way Buddhist center. In 2007, Daria moved to Seattle, where she now lives with her husband and is part of the local Diamond Way Center there. In 2006 at the wish of Lama Ole Nydahl, Daria began sharing teachings in our centers.
